purpose of this blog
A few introductory comments about A big wank:
1. A big wank is a trivial blog, by which I mean it exists only as a place for me to post trivia -- i.e., stuff of no real importance. Items posted on this blog will most likely make it up here because I find them funny, although it's possible that other items that are clever or cute or Canadian will be posted even if they are not funny. Unlikely, but possible.
2. A big wank was created in response to public demand (i.e., repeated requests from KW) for such a blog.
3. The title of this blog comes from a phrase uttered by Tim Canterbury about 11 minutes and 11 seconds into Season 1 Episode 5 of the BBC TV series The Office. If you haven't seen The Office yet, there's a good chance you should drop whatever you're doing and go rent it right now. It's that good. In fact, I'd go so far as to say it is the best television comedy of the 21st century.
4. Unsolicited opinions, such as the one offered in the previous sentence, will probably abound in this blog, making A big wank no different than nearly every other blog in cyberspace.
